Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Ear

I am in Mexico for travel and was stung by a bee on my ear two nights ago. I woke up yesterday morning with a stiff neck on the same side as bee sting, which sometimes happens to me and of course with a still red and swollen, itchy ear. I got a head, neck, and back massage today thinking I had tense muscles and applied a lot of pressure to that side. I now realize the lymph node on that side of my neck is very swollen. Could the pressure applied near the area have worsened my condition? Should I be concerned and is it necessary to seek medical treatment?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Most bites and stings will heal on their own without a visit to a doctor. There are several things you can do to relieve pain and swelling and prevent infection from a bite or sting.
1.Apply an ice pack to a bite or sting for 15 to 20 minutes once an hour for the first 6 hours. When not using ice, keep a cool, wet cloth on the bite or sting for up to 6 hours. Always keep a cloth between your skin and the ice pack. Do not apply ice for longer than 15 to 20 minutes at a time.
2.Elevate the area of the bite or sting to decrease swelling. so don't lay down much
3.An antihistamine taken by mouth, such as Benadryl or cetrizine, may help relieve itching, redness, and swelling. You can also take anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen/ acetaminophen to reduce pain.

If problem persist visit nearby doctor

Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved.
