Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Knee Post Injury

My toe got caught under a board as I was moving forward and my body kept going until I fell flat on my face while my toe stayed caught. My knee pushed backwards. It did not swell until about 30 minutes later, swelling is moderate. It hurts to put weight on it now, need crutches to walk. I did not hear a popping sound nor did I feel a pop. Although the front of my knee cap area hurts, the swelling is above the knee and to the outside. How may I have injured it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per your history is concerned do a physical examination of knee to ruled out any ligament injury or not. Take rest and do RICE (Rest, ICE, Compression, Elevation). Take ABATE-SP tablet twice a day for inflammation.

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
