Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Face And Muscle Stiffness

My daughter is 37 and I noticed her face was swollen. At the time she said she felt fine. That same night she started having vomitting, diarrhea, some fever feet and hands swelling some muscle stiffness. Should she go to a hospital or can it wait until tomorrow? What could this be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think she is having edema and kidneys may be causing it. Probably a kidney infection such pyelonephritis may be causing it. She can wait until tomorrow morning.

She may need to do a total blood count with formula, biochemical blood balance, and urine analysis. Taking furosemide may be helpful to lower edema.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
