Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain as you have swelling over the
parotid gland and you had pain in the past which has now subsided there is a possibility that you had infection in the paortid gland [ Parotitis] causing swelling and pain and as now there is swelling which increases during taking food and reduces a few minutes after the meals can be due to formation of crystalline stones in the ducts of the gland leading to obstruction in saliva flow causing backflow of saliva into the glands and causing swelling..
It is many a times seen secondary to infection..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you to get an
MRI SCAN done to rule out the exact cause and treat you accordingly..
For infections antibiotics will relieve and that you are already taking.
If there is stone formation the superficially located stones can be removed by pushing them towards the duct opening..
Deeper ones needs surgical removal.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
