Suggest Treatment For Swelling Around A Dog Bite On Knee

Hello, I was bitten on the side of the knee about 10 days ago by a neighbor s dog. I went to the doctor, who cleaned out the two major puncture wounds (no stitches). They took and xray to ensure that the tooth hadn t broken off. I had a lot of bruising, but it never really hurt because it went numb almost immediately after it happened, and is still pretty numb in the center. I took five days worth of antibiotics and was up to date on tetanus. Question is, the bruising is almost gone, but the bite itself is still swollen and hard and looks red still and is painful around the edges when I touch it. Should I go back to the doctor, or is this normal?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Consult the doctor again for further treatment. There may be secondary bacterial infection...so, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs may be given by him...ok

Hope this helps.
