Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Bruising On The Calf

I had a charley horse in the calf about a week ago. When it happened it felt like something popped. There was swelling but it went down and the leg seemed better but today I noticed bruising around the ankle and the site of the charley horse is kinda yellow/green. I am a 60 year old male with diabetes

There is a swelling and bruising around the ankle. The site where you recently experienced charley horse in the calf is yellow green. You are diabetic. Charley horse risk is commonly if you are overweight, some who have medical conditions like nerve disorders, thyroid , liver, diabetes, etc. To prevent charley horse maintain healthy weight. Gentle massage on a regular basis is helpful.

Take bath with Epsom salt. Use heat compression or heating pads to relax the muscles. To relieve pain and soreness you can take ibuprofen or naproxen, one SOS when needed. In most cases, the charley horse will stop within a few minutes. However, take food rich in vitamin B6, B12, folic acid. You can also take supplements. You have a bruise at the site of charley horse it is yellowish/green in color.

The color of the bruise is due to the different stages of your body breaking down the blood that has accumulated in the bruise. To treat the bruise you can apply ointment Thrombophob to help reduce and disperse any blood clots below the skin. You can also apply ointment calendula on the area affected. Arnica bruise cream is also equally effective. Avoid drinking alcohol and addictions if any, take wholegrains well cooked and pineapple juice. Control your blood glucose level at all cost for better healing.
