Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Bruising On The Arm

about a week ago, I had a branch from our palm tree, land on my arm. Several of the spikes, went in to my arm but the most painful spot is still the point where the branch hit my arm. There is a large knot on that spot which is slowly getting smaller and is now turning black and blue. Just wondering if there is any way to make the swelling go down faster.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using cold compresses for local applications. The symptoms will go away on its own in a few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
