Suggest Treatment For Sweating, itchy Skin And Bloating

Hello. I hope you can help me. I m a 50 yr old female. I ve been having symptoms for at least three yrs with no diagnosis. I will list my symptoms Severe generalized fluid retention. I have pitting edema every where on my body. I take lasix for that. I m having profuse sweating with or without activity. I feel extremely hot all the time. I have dry itchy skin I eat very little yet I am gaining weight in my torso. Sometime it also becomes so bloated with fluid my skin stretches and it s very uncomfortable I feel very tired a lot of the time. I run out of energy quickly Sometimes I m so weak,my body feels like it s made of lead When I become bloated, my husband notices that I talk very slowly and my thinking process is slow. These symptoms are ruining my life. I ve seen an OB/GYN and was put on HRT but it made things worse. My GP doctor ran the usual test for the fluid retention, all was negative so I was put on lasix but the edema is getting worse and occurs more frequently. .....thank you, Lyn

Hello Lyn, Welcome to HCM
Going by your age and symptoms it maybe hormonal. HRT can increase edema and fluid retention, weight gain etc. But your symptoms may be menopause related, the swelling , hot flushes, sweating. etc
I also advise you to get your thyroid levels checked. Abnormal levels can cause these symptoms and affect the skin, and make you feel tired and slow.
For now, keep your skin well moisturised. Apply paraffin oil, coconut oil or a good moisturiser twice a day
Once you test for the above, further treatment can be decided. If the swelling is recurrent and not getting better, check your full kidney and cardiac function.
Hope this guides you.
