Suggest Treatment For Sweating, Fever And Nausea After Tonsillectomy

My daughter had a tonsillectomy 7 days ago. Last night she had significant bleeding and went to the OR for a post tonsil bleed repair. This evening she is sweaty, with a temp of 100, and having black foamy liquid stool and nausea. I m hoping she s just passing the blood that drained down her throat and into her gut, but I wanted another opinion please.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Her temperature and sweating could be due to tonsillectomy wound infection..guess they must have already put her on tablets..if not she should be put on antibiotics for at least 5 days..and black stools is as you rightly told is because of swallowing of blood ..nothing to worry about it.. and swallowing of blood causes gastric irritation and nausea , vomiting ..so she should be given antacids...
i wish a good luck and speedy recovery to her..
