Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain, Gas Burps And Shortness Of Breath
my mother in law is in a foriegn country in the pacific. My wife, her daughter, can feel a strong pulse just above the bottom of the stearnum. She has stomach pains and excessive gas burps. Shortness of breath. She is 93 and the doctor she recently visited prescribed only malox

Hello,
As per my clinical experience, the Malox contains Aluminium hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide and Simethicone to relieve some of the gastric problems. The burps and shortness of breath can be additionally addressed with:
- Elevating head end of the bed about 30 degrees
- Dietary precautions to avoid all spices, non veg, dairy fat
- Consume small, frequent meals
- Avoid over eating and over fasting
- Do not go to bed for minimum 2 hours after eating lunch or dinner
- Regular walking, exercises
- Control of body weight and serum cholesterol, blood sugar
- Addition of proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole, anti emetic as Ondancetron with sips of water on empty stomach
- Digestive enzymes with elichi content
Discuss the need of an X-ray chest for the evaluation of breathlessness problem.
