hai i am iqbal nazar .... i got placed in bahrain and before that am met the medical ... they test my blood and finally said you are not eligible to go .. that you had vdrl problem as 1:2 .. andf am confused ..because they said some what sexually transmitted dieases .. and main thingt is am not went to that side ...kindly say way to cure the problem

VDRL can be falsely positive, specially if it is in low titres such as in your case.
Moreover, It is not a confirmatory test for syphilis.
Many infectious diseases have been reported as causing biologic false positive results like malaria, leprosy, tuberculosis, infectious mononucleosis, pregnancy etc among many others.
Up to 10% to 15% of patients may give a false positive test result with VDRL.
A low titre positive VDRL should always be followed up with a specific test for syphilis like TPHA test, which would be conclusive.
