There are a few treatment options available even at her age in the form of hormone therapy. This is a simple tablet called Tamoxifen 20mg once daily which she can continue to take at home and which will keep her disease in check for some more time. As to the dexamethasone, it is not part of her anticancer treatment and was probably started on a symptomatic basis. The average expectancy at her stage without treatment is 6-8months.
