Suggest Treatment For Soreness In Mouth

my 76 year old friend female, has been bothered with a "sore mouth" for the last 10 months. She has been to her primary care doctor and an ear, nose and throat doctor but no help. she's been prescribed antibiotics and a rinse of some kind but neither one helped. They told her a sore mouth is common. She also says her tongue is sore. Please advise her what she should do. Sincerely, Debbie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
thank you for your query in healthcaremagic.com......

first of all, a sore mouth and tongue can be due to various reasons....
the most common are vitamin and essential micronutrient deficiency....
also bacterial or fungal infections of the oral cavity can be other causes...

i would suggest you the following-

tab coamoxyclav 375 thrice daily for 5 days
tab multivitamin and minerals combination once daily for 15days or you can use the same syrup once daily before food
gargle with mouthwash or povidone-iodine solution twice daily for 7 days
maintain oral hygiene

hope this will be sufficient....
you can contact me anytime for further queries...
