Suggest Treatment For Soreness In Arm After A Tetanus Shot
I received a tetnus shot two days and my arm was perfectly fine. Now couple days later my arm and neck are so sore and i have a large lump on the spot where the shot was inserted. Also around the spot that the shot was given is now red. What could be wrong. Its getting worse and worse.
I would like to rule out infection. *do you have any fever? *who administered the shot? *is your arm or neck swollen? *does any area around the shot look like an orange peel (in appearance, not colour)
I recommend : -a physician consult right away if the redness is increasing -apply ice pack (wrapped in a thin cloth) over the area (on and off) for 15 minutes. Do this frequently? -take ibuprofen or tylenol for the pain but make sure to check your temperature before you take it. It may mask any fever. -blood tests (complete blood count)
Some people react differently to shots but an infection must be ruled out. Please check with your doctor if the above measures don't help in two days.
Hope this helps and you feel better soon. Wish you good health. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with
