Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Bleeding While Having Sex

Hi, the last few times i've had sex, it was been very sore and bled during. I had an examination today at my local clinic but even the device they use to put inside made me bleed and was really sore. I feel as if i'm bruised afterwards and when i go the toilet after sex it really burns and stings. What can this be?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to offer some suggestions. Firstly, bleeding after intercourse is not a normal phenomenon. This can occur due to rough intercourse, infections, erosions of the cervix, cysts/polyps, etcetera.

The fact that you also experienced bleeding during examination suggests the need for further evaluation through a pap smear, swabs from the vagina and cervix, urinalysis, colposcopy if needed and a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram apart from general blood counts.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam
