Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat

Hi, i have had a soar throat for 3 days now. I've done everything too try to make it go away.
But nothing is working. Everytime i swallow it feels like i am swallowing a knife. And it hurts my ears. Is there anything i can take too reduce the pain? Or make it go away?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have an infection in throat that can be bacterial or viral in nature and it can lead to Pharyngitis and tonsillitis and it is the cause for pain and difficulty in swallowing..
Other causes can be acid reflux, post nasal drip etc..
Pain in ears can be either due to ear infection secondary to throat infection as the throat and ears are connected via Eustachian tube..
It can also be radiating pain from throat..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you a curse of antibiotics like Azithromycin or Levofloxacin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil, warm saline gargles, steam inhalations..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily and suck throat lozenges..
Sip on plenty of warm water throughout the day.
In case if it is due to acid reflux antacids and proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole and antacids along with dietary modifications can help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
