Hello I ve been having a sore throat for three days now. I see no redress swelling or little puss collections as I would when I get tonsillitis. The pain is located in the right side only, also I have a little pimple on the right side of my tongue. It s sore when I swallow, and when I talk for a long time Note it started off as a cold Sunday, and I ve been taking amoxyclav 1gram Bd, I swoped the paracetamol for the ibuprofen cause of the pain, and corenza-c (an effervescent) to help with the runny nose. I do have chronic sinusitis. Can t afford to visit my ent due to financial constraints. Please help

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection, also known as Common Cold and the symptoms of cold, sore throat and pain on swallowing with a pimple on the back of tongue are all due to it..
As it is a viral infection it will resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in human body..

As of now you can start with supportive treatment to relieve the symptoms like:
-Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution..

-Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti allergic levocetrizine and another combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen..

-Take cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan.

-Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..

-Do steam inhalations..

-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

-Sip on warm water throughout the day..

-Do warm compresses over chest..

Hopefully the symptoms will resolve within a week and if it worsen consult a General Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
