Good evening, My fourteen-year old daughter just showed me the back of her throat which just this evening became spotted with pink welts. She said she started having a sore throat this afternoon, but only noticed the welt tonight as she was doing her dental care. She has very large tonsils that we are having examined in a week or so with the thought that this summer would be a good time to have them removed should that be what the doctor orders. I just gave her some Benadryl in case the welts are the signs of an allergic reaction, but I am wondering whether I should take her to the ER? Your advice, please? Many thanks, Emily McKnight
