Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptoms of sore throat and ear ache are suggestive of infection of the throat mucosa which has spread to ear.
Infections of throat can reach up to the ear.
This occurs because throat and ear communicate with each other.
Pain and difficulty in swallowing suggest infection in the throat.
Ear ache and hearing echoing sounds in ear are due to infection.
The condition requires treatment with a course of antibiotics.
Consult your ENT specialist for clinical assessment and prescription of appropriate antibiotics.
In the meanwhile, you can take saline gargles with luke warm water.

Thanks and take care
Dr Shailja Puri
