Suggest Treatment For Smelly Belly Button Discharge

Hi, i was wondering why i have this sticky smelly liquid comming out of my bellybutton that sometimes has blood mixed into it? it stains in my clothes and smells very bad. what should i do? i ve taken anti-biotics before for a wound i had on my arm and i thought that should have stopped the infection in my belly button if it was a infection at all.. but i have this for couple of years now. sometimes it appears and it stays for couple of months and goes away for years and comes back again. it repeats. its not like i dont wash my belly button. hygiene is very important for me. -Romin

Dear friend, it is umbilical sinus that you are suffering from. Umbilical sinus is a non healing sinus tract present in umbilicus. Obviously, cleaning of umbilicus is a must and application of moisture absorbent such as clotrimazole. It is better to consult a surgeon for sinus and have a MRI to rule out the sinus.
