Suggest Treatment For Slight Swelling In The Left Parotid And Throat Area
I have what appears to be slight swelling in the left parotid and throat area with occassional pain during swallowing. The pain is like a needle stabbing me then it s gone. The first couple of times it happened it caused a spasm across the throat and it s only happened once on the right side. I have hasimotos disease. Had ablation 7 years ago. Endocrinologist suggested ENT for scope. What could this be? Just want to be informed for doctor appts. so I can give them the best information possible to diagnosis this quickly. I do have what seems to be excessive (at least to me ) ear fluid and in morning a lot of sinus congestion followed by drainage. but this swelling and pain during swallowing has been there for 4 months now. Thank you
One sided pain in throat could be due to unilateral tonsillitis, enlarged styloid,peritonsillitis,tonsillolith/cyst,tumors in parapharygeal space.Pain with swelling in parotid could be due to parotitis, stone in parotid duct, parotid tumor.Initial examination of throat and swelling by ent helps to arrive at diagnosis.
