Suggest Treatment For Sleep Apnea

Had car accident (minor) either fell asleep or passed out midafternoon and have a pattern of getting sleepy mid afternoon, I have been on cpap for years, had new sleep study done last year and bought new machine this year. I have taken the machine and had it checked, its fine, the chip that records your sleep showed I got 7.3hrs.sleep with one apnea the night before accident, any ideas

Hello,

If you didn't remember what happened and you either slept or passed out then this should be evaluated. You had good 7 hours sleep so I don't think it was sleep apnea. Sleep apnea results in day time drowsiness but that usually doesn't result in sudden sleep or fall.

EEG should be done to rule out seizure. This could be due to syncope or some episode of seizure. This should be evaluated properly. Please visit a doctor for help.
