Suggest Treatment For Sinusitis

I have had a lot of mucus for the past few months. I thought it was sinus, a cold, allergies..., but now I am wondering. It just doesn t seem to stop. Now, when I blow my nose it is clear. But when I can manage to cough it up, it is dark yellow or kind of greenish. Do I need to worry? Or is it just sinus and allergy?

Hi Dear .

As per your query you have problems related to sinusitis like stuffed nose and cough . The symptoms you menion in query can occur due to many reasons like sore throat , post nasal drip and sinusitis . Yellow or green mucous usually indicate viral infection I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order tests like nasal endoscopy , nasal or sinus culture and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe nasal or oral corticosteroid , decongestants and antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) . Sometimes doctor may also recommend immunotherapy . For now do nasal saline rinses and take steam to relieve the congestion .
