Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms are not only related to the sinus infection.

I agree with the doctor recommendation on performing thyroid hormone levels and vitamin B12 levels.

A brain MRI would help exclude other possible causes.

Regarding the sinus infection, a sinus discharge bacterial culture would help identify the possible infectious agent.

Allergy tests are also necessary, considering the fact that your symptoms could also be related to a sinus infection.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing good health,

Dr. Iliri

I awoke and found an indentation right below my right temple just above my cheek bone--no pain or loss of sensitivity. I was having a sinus infection at the time. I occurred on 5/7/2012. When I wake up it is practically gone but as I move around it comes back. I saw a doctor and they thoutg I slept on my hand and that is what caused it.

I have been treated for a sinus infection as of Friday with antibiotics. Now I also am coughing a lot! The cough starts with tickle/irritation in throat from drainage, then spirals into bad cough, it hurts and I am gasping for air. What can I do to help this and breathe ok?

i am A 23 yr old female. i have had a hoarse voice for over a month now (not so significantly hoarse that its hard to hear me, but enough that my range is affected and i sound different and feel hoarse) i have had a few other symptoms which may or may not be unrelated... I was increasingly tired for about 6 weeks but that seems to have passed. I feel no post nasal drip, and i do not feel as if this is an asthma related hoarseness, i also do not feel any reflux. what could it be?

I have a 9 year old daughter who for about a year now, off and on, complains that it s a little bit hard to breathe . She says she is in no pain, just difficult to get a full breath. He younger sister has mild asthma that presents itself usually only with a cold. When it started early last spring I took her to the walk in clinic and the doctor told me it could be mild asthma too, to try the inhaler route. We did, but it didn t seem to help. That time it went on for a couple of weeks most evenings around bed time. I thought it might be allergies so I took her back to our family doctor who gave us a nasal inhaler to try. I m not sure it helped either. We went through a couple of months of nothing but now again, she is been a couple of weeks, not every day, but almost every other day saying it s hard to breathe again . I had her try her nasel spray again, but am wondering if there is something else I should try? or should I take her back to the family doctor? Thank you.
