Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection

I think my husband is fighting a sinus infection. He doesn t have a fever or feel terrible but clears his throat so much yet after having a cold. He has no developed a rash. We felt that was caused from a laundry soap residue (our daughter washed some clothes in her Tide with Downy) The itchy rash is on his thighs and his socks. Today I heard two stories of young children who had a bacterial infection (upper respiratory type) and a rash was part of the symptoms. Is that possible for my husband? I hadn t heard that before.

Hi,

Now he has developed a rash on thighs and socks area.
The throat problem and the rash are most probably not related.
The rash looks to be due to soap retained in the cloths as you have correctly thought about.
The need to clear throat can be due to Granular pharyngitis as the patients gets the feeling of something in throat all the time and is enhanced by the attachment of dust and such irritants.
This is most probably due to postnasal drip secondary to sinus infection or even infection of nose and/or throat itself.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
First of all, ask your husband to consult PCP, you Doctor for clinical examination so that the cause can be ascertained, investigated by tests of blood and CT scan of sinuses if this is suspected.
Get an appropriate management as per the cause found.;
Nasal decongestant drops followed by plain water steam inhalation.
Anti-inflammatory and antihistamine.
Avoid sudden temperature changing zones
Avoid allergens.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
