Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Namenda And Aricept

When should Namenda and aricept be discontinued? My mother is no longer able to potty herself, walk, clothe herself, brush her teeth, and we are beginning to feed her. She does recognize us. She does not have true alzheimers, but a dementia of some sort. Has been on these treatments for about 6-7 years or more. She is still eating and has not lost weight at this point. Sleeps 14 hrs a day or so, no longer carries on conversations but will answer questions with short replies.

Well there can be many side effects of these drugs like nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite , vomiting , dizziness , confusion and constipation . But your should not discontinue medicine without the advice of expert . I would suggest you to consult your neurologist for proper examination and discuss the condition with him/her . Doctor may stop the medicine , alter the dose or prescribe substitute .
