Suggest Treatment For Sickle Cell Anemia

Good morning, I m a 49 year old female living with sickle cell anaemia. I am looking for a private primary care physician in Mississippi. A doctor that will listen, advise, and treat my medical condition(s) accordingly. At home I manage my pain crisis with children s chewable Bayer aspirin due to abdominal sensitivity. For severe pain I m treated in a hospital s emergency department for pain management. Please advise. Your recommendation(s) will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You should visit the ER as and when required for control of pain and other symptoms. There is no absolute treatment for sickle cell disease because it is a congenital disease. A blood transfusion might be of intermediate help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
