Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath

I am a 62 year old water aerobic instructor and a retired PE Teacher. Recently while teaching class chemicals were placed into the pool which caused chemical burns on my lungs. This happened on Dec 2nd. I have been out of the pool since then My work scheduled consist of eleven 1 hours classes per week. Is there any kind or respiratory therapy I can discuss with my lung specialist on Monday. I still have shortness of breath and cold air is a trigger.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should get done following tests when you meet your pulmonologist.
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray.
3. PFT ( pulmonary function test ).
Possibility of either allergic bronchitis or asthma is high in your case.
PFT will be helpful in diagnosis of these conditions.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
I find this answer helpful
