Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath

My husband just called me and stated he is having shortness of breath... this morning before he left for work he stated that he was not able to sleep all night and couldn t breathe in bed... this has never happened before... do I have him drive himself to the emergency room? YYYY@YYYY

Yes, he should be seen as soon as possible but he may not be able to drive himself.

He may need to be driven there.

The doctors would assess both his heart and lung function. They may also consider a full blood count to check for anemia which is a cause of shortness of breath.
