Hello and thanks for writing. I can understand your concern and assure you that i will do the best i can to help you. I am afraid that prednisone is the only way you can treat scleritis effectively. Merely an eyedrop will not benefit as you have to understand that getting medications to your sclera requires it to be via your blood supply to sclera. If you have pain you can take an OTC analgesic like Ibufrofen or Acetaminophen and can try cold compress to eye. If you encounter grittiness or itching in eye you can take lubricating eyedrops like refresh or tearplus. Avoid handling your eye too often to avoid any collateral infections.
