Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Pain and burning sensation may be due to vaginal dryness, lack of proper lubrication due to low estrogen (menopausal age group), vaginal or urinary infection, PID etc.

I suggest you to undergo one routine urine examination and culture test with vaginal swab test to confirm the diagnosis. Complete hormone profile should also be done.

TREATMENT for Urinary Infection: I suggest you to take one course of ANTIBIOTIC (like Ciprofloxacin) & URINE ALKALISER (to be taken with water). It will help to control urine infection.

PREVENTION: You must drink plenty of water (2.5 to 3 lit/ day) to flush out the body toxin, take cranberry juice (one glass) regularly, maintain genital hygiene properly, empty bladder in time, avoid unprotected sex (if you are sexually active) and wear clean-cotton underwear only.

For vaginal dryness and pain: I suggest you to apply estradiol cream 1-2 times daily. Maintain genital hygiene. Water based lubricant can be used on the other time.

Hope, it helps for your information. Good luck and take care.
