Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain Under The Left Breast

I am a recent breast cancer survivor. I had stage 1 very early detected and cured with lumpectomy and 5 weeks of radiation. Recently I have had very sharp pain on my left side right under my breast. it almost feels like a fractured rib but the pain will disappear for days and then come back. I have shortness of breath and it hurts to take a full breath. pain increases when I lay down. now I am feeling pain in my left arm which is causing real concern. I m a 45 year old female who is otherwise in great health.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
Better to go for a PET scan to rule out any residual lesion, that may have infiltrated to the chest wall.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
