General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pain related muscle injury is treated with R. I. C.E therapy initially.

This involves: (1) rest (R)- this means limiting movement as much as possible
(2)ice therapy (I) initially though if the pain continues warm compress can be used,
(3)compression (C) bandage if there is swelling
(4)elevation (E) -elevation of the affected limb would also help with swelling

In addition to the above the use of ibuprofen, naproxen or cataflam would help as well.

I hope this helps
