Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain

Hi, I have been suffering from severe throat pain and irritation since the past week and a half. I took paracetamol for 2 days and erithromycin for 3 days-twice a day but it did not help. I consulted an ENT specialist who prescribed some more antibiotics. I have taken levoflaxin for 2 days now but still there is no improvement. Please suggest what should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The throat pain is commonly related to a cold or flu.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
I also suggest using a throat spray for antibacterial properties.
I recommend to drink liquids, eat a lot of liquids and rest.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
