For the past 2years I have been backwards and forwards to the doctors with my daughter who is nearly 16 with constant stomache and back pain in lower back she has had loads of blood test ultrasound to check ovaries bladder etc and has had a test for PID she has the contraception implant and pain did calm down for about 3 months but now it s back again mainly in her lower back area could it be her kidneys? She takes gaviscon for indigestion . When she was younger she couldn t tolerate milk could this be effecting her?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, she should have CT scan abdomen and pelvis as well as kidneys. Also in respect to history of food intolerances in past, she should have work up for malabsorption syndrome like coeliac disease or lactulose intolerance and endoscopy may be needed in that regard.

Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or anti spasmodic like Drotaverine may be helpful.

Wishing her a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
