Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat

Hi, my name is Brian. Today I began to feel like i was getting a sore throat, a lot lower than usual. It feels like this sore throat is below my neck, although I really dont have any pain swallowing. I also am have some discomfort when I take a deep breath. The discomfort is coming from my chest, right under my sternum. Any thoughts? Thanks, YYYY@YYYY

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe sore throatwhich seems to be due to bacterial infection of respiratory tract.

Need not toworry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist and get it examined completely and go for bod test done and start with proper course of antibiotics such as Azithromycin. Do warm saline gargles and take benadryl. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing. Do rinses with betadine. Till then give warm compresses to throat.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry
