Hi Ms Ramya,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your husband's problem. He seems to be suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (snoring is the main symptom).

In sleep apnea, due to overweight and other issues, breathing passage gets obstructed, leading to snoring. As a result, oxygen supply gets reduced and the person wakes up several times at night, leading to unrefreshed sleep and daytime sleepiness. In addition, it poses severe health hazards, and can increase the risk of high BP, sugar and brain strokes.

It can be diagnosed by doing sleep studies and there are excellent treatments available. Please convince him to see a doctor.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
