Suggest Treatment For Severe Sinus Infection And Dizziness

I ve had a sinus infection for a couple of months now. It s better but I m still having some episodes of being stuffed up and having some dizziness and I smell ammonia or chlorine when I bend over and I get drainage coming out of my nose. I m seeing an ENT and he sent me to have a CT scan of my sinuses yesterday. I also have a lot of pain in my neck and back of my head.

Hi,

Though you have not mentioned what antibiotic you have used, I suggest that you use Amoxicillin Clavulanate for a period of 10 days.

If you have already used it - based on the nasal secretion culture and sensitivity, better to go ahead with a broad spectrum antibiotic, please.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Sumanth Amperayani, Pediatrician, Pulmonology
