I have a healthy 4 month old baby girl. Today I picked her up and she was squirming and my finger accidently poked her in the eye, she immediately yelled her eye was red on the outside and it teared a bit. After a few mins she was fine. However i looked at her eye later with the light and I noticed what looked like a scratch on the lenses. As I examined her eye further it looked deeper as if it was a slit in the iris of her eye but I can also see something on the lens. I wish I could attach a photo. I have never noticed this before now but it could have very well been there. I am very concerned and feeling guilty because I hope I haven t caused this. Any advice or help?
you can not see slit inlens oriris. it is either conjuctival or corneal injury. get the child examined for cofirmation. treatment is different for both. if corneal injury mit should be treated as corneal ulcer. antibiotic drop 6hourly.
