Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Knee

Hi my Mum is 80 years old. She has had a knee replacement. One week ago she fell and bruised her knee very badly. The bruise has spread right down her leg (very dark purple). She is also on warfarin for a blood clotting disorder. She is now complaining about a very severe burning pain in the knee and surrounding tissue. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. In my opinion, you should take it seriously. Get an X-ray at the earliest to see if everything is in order in the knee. The position of the implants and the condition of surrounding bones needs to be checked.

All the best. Regards.
