Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Back

My husband woke up around 3:30 am with severe mid back pain. He could not get comfortable. He finally decided to take a hot bath to help ease the pain. As he was in the hot bath he felt sick and threw up. He still has pain in his back but now his stomach hurts as well. He thought he had food poison but I believe its something else.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Food poisoning can be associated with abdominal pain but not usually back pain.

Because of the presence of the back pain , other causes would need to be considered in addition to the food poisoning.

Conditions such as pancreatitis, renal infection or stones , would need to be considered .

It would be best, in light of the severe pain and associated vomiting, that he goes to see his doctor or emergency services as soon as possible

I hope this helps
