General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
If you are having pain at the shin and you are a teen this might be due to growth spur and is normal, not a dangerous thing and goes away itself.
You can have some tylenol to help with the pain and soft local massage. Advil might be a great help also with pain but take it after food so you do not hurt your stomach.
If you have had any trauma or you think you might have hurt the leg an xray might help to rule out fractures or bone structure problems.
If no control of pain with tylenol or advil than you need to see a doctor to have an xray done and if xray is normal than you might need further investigations like blood tests to rule out immune causes of the joint and bone pain.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
