Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain, Constipation And Nausea
Hi doctor i have not been able to pass a stool for over 16 hours, it is too big and stuck i am starting to be in a lot of pain the more i try. I tried taking some OTC laxatives (max dose) and am having no effects besides nausea. I was going to try milk of magnesia next.
Hello there, If you feel that your stool is too hard and you are unable to pass it then taking OTC will not help as the stool is hard due to lack of water. Have lukewarm water in which lemon juice has been mixed and keep having 1 glass every hour. Have atleast 6 glasses of water like this and wait. Sit in a squatting position for some time as this will reduce the strain in your bowels. If however after another 12 hours you still are unable to pass stools visit a hospital and let the doctor xray your abdomen to detect any signs of obstruction.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to address any further queries to me, I will try my best to help you.
