Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Caused Due To Degenerative Disc Disease

Hello, thanks for taking your time to read and give me hopefully some answers ! I am a 41 female that has had several issues starting in my teens with gynecological issues. I had a complete hysterectomy at age 22. So around age 35 had a water skiing accident, thought I was fine. A couple years later I had to get a plate put in my neck. I was told then that I had a severe case of degenerative disc disease that has spread to lumbar and have had that operated on as well. Now my question, so about 6t months ago , just was changing laundry and my middle back twisted in a bad way . The results of the MRI showed 2 herniations and the degenerative disc disease. OK well what prompted my Dr was that the painful area can actually be felt and feels more pain on the outside , the vertebral protruding & thought maybe a fracture . I am now unfortunately disabled but worked as a surgical scrub for years and know things that I worry make me paranoid but I honestly can not handle my whole back now hurting. I m on Gaba benton, for nerve pain but also starting to have my toes curling up so tight. One last thing, I have had a blood test come back in high # s of a calcium antibody & was told could be hidden tumor (been ruled out) or an autoimmunity. Just had eye exam & was told that the cup behind my right eye has changed and is small so about to be referred to neurological Dr. Please tell me what your thoughts are please and thank you so much!

Dear , This is Dr. S.Tomar from healthcaremagic.com's medical team and I will be your medical adviser for this question. Thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us.
Your complaints of back pain are because of degenerative changes and disc related pathology . Such changes puts pressure on nerve roots and cause pain , paraesthesia in lower extremities . As far as tumor issue is concerned so that can be ruled out with myelography . Ask about it to your healthcare providers . With this I would suggest you to consult further with rheumatologist as well to rule out any autoimmune disorder .
Don't bend forwards , don't lift any weight . You should walk and do light stretches as told by your physiotherapist . Try to reduce your weight and maintain a healthy BMI of 23 . Take your prescribed medicine on right time AND if it's not effective then inform your Doctor about it . If pain medicines does not work well then more strong anti inflammatory agents like corticosteroids can be injected in affected area which gives good relief and you can discuss about it with your healthcare providers further .
Stick to physical therapy and take PT sessions regularly for permanent relief .
Thank you for your question and feel free to contact us further for any query or follow up.
sincerely,
DR.S.TOMAR
