Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Hives

I keep having these multiple sympytoms - I have been dropping things and falling. I have seen an orthopedic Dr an Internist and a neuro surgeon. One says I need surgery on my back and neck for spurs and disc problems, I am currently in the process of receiving Gel injections in my knees but they are not helping. Sometimes I have to use my cane to walk. I am a small petite woman and am beginning to feel like a hypochondriac but am in severe pain which worsens with the weather. I have been tested for Rheumatoid arthritis but that was negative. I am tired of going to Doctors with no results. I hurt so much, I can not commit to a job or any kind of volunteer work. My days are limited depending on how I feel. My husband died 8 months ago from multiple myleoma and I cared for him for 9 years and know I injured my back helping him. I am aware I am grieving but my pain is very real. I seem to catch one cold after another and know my immune system is compromised but there is something else going on. I am very sensitive to smell and have seen an allergist who says I am not allergic to anything but my eyes swell and I get hives when there are orange blossoms booming. I smell strong perfume or intense cigarette smoke. I can go outside and immediately start chocking up and having trouble getting my breath when the trees are blooming. I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
You are passing through a very hard time and I understand your concern. You need to keep positive mind set and not loose hopes.
From your description,I come to know you have 3 main symptoms-things fall from your hands, pain in neck, back and knees;allergic rhinitis or hay fever.
Pain is due to degenerative changes in joints.Fatigue may be due to vitamin or mineral deficiency.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Getting some basic investigations done like blood pressure measurement, blood haemogram, blood glucose, blood lipids, serum calcium to know if you have any underlying medical problem like hypertension, diabetes mellitus, mineral deficiency.
-Analgesics like tab acetaminophen or tramadol as and when needed.Local application of diclofenac gel and warm compresses during acute pain.
-Take the help of physiotherapist for physical therapy and diathermy. Some relaxation and stretching exercises will give you relief from pain.
-Neck brace and knee brace for support while doing any activity.
-Healthy diet.Include dairy, walnuts, almonds, green leafy vegetables, flax seed for calcium, phosphorus ,magnesium.Include 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables for anti oxidants and vitA.
-Breathing exercises and yoga ,avoiding exposure to smoke ,suspected allergens and pollutants will aid in decreasing incidence of cold.
You get allergic symptoms with seasons,in such case, prophylaxis with drug callef montelukast with cetrizine may be started 3 months prior to the season.(with prescription)
-Vitamins and calcium plus vit D supplements daily.(with prescription)
If respiratory symptoms like breathing difficulty becomes prominent, visit to physician /chedt physician recommended.Oral steroids may be started.Keep your follow up with your consultant orthopaedician.
Wish you recovery.
Thanks
