Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Discomfort In The Leg
Hello someone else (Not I) has severe pain and discomfort in the left leg. It hurts the most after sitting down or laying down and then when getting up. Pain goes from hip to the kneecap to the rest of the leg(foot). Been stretching, helps a little . Have been to a couple doctors, have had a couple massages which helped but lately it has been getting worse and worse. This pain hasn t gone away, had it for about 3 weeks now.
Pain in the limbs can have different causes. Maybe due to changes in the structure or function of the nerves, muscles or bones or a combination.
The fact that the pain is worse after sitting or laying down implies that it may be due to changes in the bone such as arthritis. This can be determined by assessment by a doctor and imaging.
Issues with surrounding muscles can also contribute to these symptoms as well.
A warm compress, stretching and strengthening exercises and medication such as NSAIDs, may be helpful e.g. Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Cataflam.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
General & Family Physician
