Suggest Treatment For Severe Nose Bleeds

my daughter has recently started getting nose bleeds which result in quite a lot of blood loss and lots of rather large clots followed by a headache. Is this normal? She has not had a cold or any reason for excessive nose blowing. She is 13 and quite well generally. Not on any medication

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of severe nose bleeds. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , trauma , allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. , hypertension, systemic conditions and use of blood thinning medications. Need not to worry. You should touching or picking nose with any sharp object. You should take nasal saline rinses. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order CT scan , MRI and do physical examination . Doctor may refer you to neurologist if he/she finds problem to be related with brain injury or problem related to nose .
