Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems that either the lymph nodes that drain the right side of the lower jaw are infected or your daughter is suffering from muscle pain called Myofacial Pain Dysfunction Syndrome (MPDS).

The infection in the oral cavity could be a decayed tooth in the lower arch. However, as she is not having any pain during chewing and as applying heat relieves the pain, it indicates more towards the possibility of muscle pain.

I would advise her to take muscle relaxant such as Dan MR (Paracetamol 500 mg + Diclofenac Sodium 50 mg + Chlorzoxazone 250 mg) twice a day for 5 days. In addition, she can apply local Diclogesic Gel such as Volini and can continue with the heat application. She should avoid hard food for few days.

However, if the pain does not go in 5 days, she should visit a dentist to look for the focus of infection in the oral cavity and investigations such as X-ray regarding it.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish your daughter feels better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
