Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have so many ulcers between my cheek and gum both on my right and left side at the bottom and an ulcer on my left side of my tongue very painful and sore cannot eat.it burns and very very painful please tell what and why iv got them.I do have crohns deseas.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that severe ulcers in mouth seems to be due to Crohn's disease aa Crohn's disease is an inflammatory disease of digestive tract although effects the iliem region or lower digestive tract but at times can cause inflammation and ulceration in the mouth also.. I would therefore suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can advise you medication like Sulphasalizine as well as Multivitamin supplements containing iron Vitamin B complex and tapering doses of steroids.. You can also be advised to gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. You can also be advised to do cool water rinses and suck ice pops.. Avoid spicy and hard foods..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
