Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

A migraine is a chronic disease and it has to be treated as such. There are two treatments in migraine wich go parallel.

The preventive treatment which consists of drugs that are taken every day (even if a headache is missing) and the acute treatment which consists of drugs that are taken as soon as a headache is present or better when the premonitory symptoms are present.

As I understand the drug you mention is an acute remedy for the migraine crisis.

I would suggest consulting the neurologist to start the preventive treatment, the drug is chosen judging from your characteristics (age, diseases) and the headaches characteristics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olsi Taka, Neurologist
